I am
sorry it had to end, but I decided to end my broadcast. It went out on top.
UK70s was the #1 classic prog station on the
internet for almost all of the seven plus years it broadcast, and was
consistently in the top ten classic rock stations on Live365. We began
broadcasting in Feb 2000, and were one of Live365’s founding broadcasters. We
ended with a rating of 9.24 (rated by 224 people), one the highest ratings on
Live365 for a station of this large size.
At last count, 26,398 people had our station as a “preset”, and we had
117 VIP’s select us as their favorite. I
appreciate all your support and patronage of the classic prog
‘genre’, and have been humbled by so many emails from well wishers across the
globe. I’d
rather not talk about why I am ending the broadcast, but it was not for a
lack of listeners, and I hope you understand it was not an easy decision for
me. I’d
like it very much if you can leave a note for your fellow listeners (or for me)
in our guest book, or drop me an email at haroldthebarrel_2000atyahoodotcom. Please
accept my apologies for not continuing. I hope you regard UK70s as a good contribution
to people who appreciate a truly magnificent music genre. Don't
